Woman, 71, Charged With Driving Drunk With Controlled Substance: Police
She was driving "all over the roadway," and also was in possession of a controlled substance, police say.

NORTH FORK, NY — A Calverton woman was arrested after she was caught driving drunk with a controlled substance on Route 48 Wednesday, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, Barbara Hennessy, 71, of Calverton, was arrested at 6:27 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle driving all over the roadway; Hennessy was seen heading east on County Road 48 and was stopped for moving from her lane unsafely, police said.

She was given and failed several roadside sobriety tests administered at the scene, and she was found to be intoxicated; Hennessy was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Hennessy was arrested and transported back to Southold Police headquarters, where she was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
