Woman Caught Driving While Impaired By Drugs: Police

She was stopped for failing to maintain her lane, police say.

FLANDERS, NY — A Mattituck woman was caught driving while impaired by drugs, police said.

According to New York State Police, Sarah D. Michels, 29, was arrested on June 18 at 10:10 p.m. after she was seen failing to maintain her lane on Flanders Road west of Red Creek Road in Flanders.

Upon further investigation, Michels was found to be impaired by drugs, police said.

Michels was transported to New York State Police Barracks Riverside where a blood test was administered; she was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and is due back at Southampton Town Justice Court on July 9, police said.
