Woman Kait Doorhy Never Met Knits Blankets, Hats for Newborns in Hospital in her Honor

The act of kindness was meant to celebrate Kait Doorhy's forever legacy.

MATTITUCK, NY —Kaitlyn Doorhy may have lost her life far too young, passing away at only 20 in an accident while away at college in 2014.

But her spirit has left a profound legacy and made a lifelong impact on those she loved — and even on many that she'd never even met.

This week, said Darla Doorhy, Kait's mom, her friend Sue Ann Tooker, who never knew her daughter, turned up while she was at work, carrying a big bag of handmade hats and blankets for newborn babies at local hospitals.

The angel act was performed on behalf of Kait's Angels, an organization formed after Kait's tragic death to spread kindness and philanthropy in honor of her giving heart.

"This was just another beautiful person who did not know Kaitlyn but wants to help keep her memory alive," Darla said.
