Woman Stole Merchandise From CVS, Walgreens: Cops
She was found at the bus stop and arrested, police say.
MATTITUCK, NY — A Greenport woman was arrested after she was found with merchandise stolen from two Mattituck pharmacies, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place on Wednesday at 3:42 p.m. on Route 25 in Mattituck. Sheryl Davis, 51, was arrested and charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property and petty larceny, police said.
Police said they received a report of a female "taking merchandise" from the CVS in Mattituck. A description was given and officers located a woman identified as Davis at the bus stop by the Mattituck shopping plaza, police said. Davis was found to be in possession of property that was taken from the store; further investigation revealed that Davis also had stolen merchandise from Walgreens, police said.

Davis was placed under arrest, transported back to Southold Town Police headquarters for processing, and held for arraignment, police said.
