Wrong-Way Driver Charged With DWI In Greenport: Police

He was arrested early Christmas morning, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A Greenport man was arrested early Christmas morning and charged with driving while intoxicated after going the wrong way on a one-way street, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, Ruly Perez-Ramos was arrested at 2:01 a.m. on Dec. 25 on Main Street in Greenport and charged with DWI, first offense; operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 08. of 1 percent, first offense; going the wrong way on a one-way street; and driving without a license.

He was seen driving the wrong way on a one-way section of South Street and found to be intoxicated, police said.

Perez-Ramos was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, authorities said.
