'Zoom Bombing' At Town Meeting Had 'Disturbing' Images, Video
The images and video were potentially illegal, police said.
SHELTER ISLAND, NY — Zoom bombing has once again been reported at a town meeting — this time, on Shelter Island.
According to Shelter Island Town Police, the incident took place during a virtual Shelter Island water advisory committee, during which two images and a video were screen-shared; the contents of the images and video were "disturbing" and potentially illegal, police said.
Zoom bombing means an uninvited guest shares their screen to other meeting attendees, and it contains disturbing or distracting graphic imagery content to create a disruptive intrusion, police said.

The incident remains open, police said.
Recently, Southold Town reported incidents of Zoom bombing where the person or people responsible spewed "heinous" death threats and slurs during town meetings, according to town officials and police.
