10 Bags Of Cocaine Found In Northport Man's Possession: Police

The man faces felony and misdemeanor drug charges, police say.

A Northport man faces felony and misdemeanor drug charges after police say they discovered 10 small bags of cocaine in the man’s possession during a traffic stop on Monday, April 17.

According to authorities, Jacob Myers, 26, was driving a 2009 Ford eastbound on Scudder Avenue when he was pulled over at 12:32 a.m. for not wearing a seatbelt and failing to signal.

Officers noticed an odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle while interviewing Myers, police say. Myers allegedly admitted to possessing an e-cigarette containing concentrated cannabis when questioned about the smell.

Myers was then found to possess a large bag, which contained 10 small bags of cocaine, totaling 5.6 grams, police say.

Myers was arrested and charged with third- fourth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was then to taken to Northport Village Police Station where he was processed and held for arraignment.
