2 Stolen Cars Crash Minutes Apart: Suffolk Police
Two people were arrested in connection with one of the thefts, while the other car's occupants ran away, police say.
SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Two stolen cars crashed moments apart on Wednesday night in Suffolk County, police said.
A 2021 GMC Terrain parked outside Dunkin Donuts, at 1906 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park, was reported stolen at 9:34 p.m. Wednesday and then crashed into a utility pole and overturned in front of 1045 West Jericho Turnpike, Commack, at 9:56 p.m., police said.
Kyle Stewart, 20, of Wyandanch, who was in the GMC, was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said. He was held overnight by police and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday. A 16-year-old boy was also taken into custody and then brought to Stony Brook University Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police said.

A 2014 Honda CRV reported stolen from West Babylon on Jan. 28 crashed into a Walgreens, at 5001 Jericho Turnpike, East Northport, at 9:59 p.m. Wednesday, police said. The car's occupants ran away, police said.
The pair of car thefts are not connected, police said.
