2nd Annual Cow Harbor PaddleFest in Northport on Saturday

All paddlers are invited to the 2nd Annual NFD Cow Harbor PaddleFest on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Steers Beach in Northport.

There is something for everyone from paddlers to spectators. The paddling events are open to kayakers and stand up paddleboarders. In addition to paddling events, there will be demonstrations, vendors, music, raffles, food and more.

Paddling events:

6 mile race - paddle the shores of Northport, Ashroken and Eaton’s Neck.

3 mile race - paddle the shores of Northport and Ashroken.

3 mile poker paddle/recreational paddle - participants paddle at their own pace to 5 designated stops along the course. Paddlers will pick up a poker chip at each stop. When paddlers finish, they can turn in the chips and get dealt their poker hand. Best hand wins!!

T-shirts and goodie bags are given to the first 75 registered paddlers and awards will be given to the first place finishers in each age category for each class.

Register today at paddleguru.com. Registration is a $50 donation but goes up to $65 August 14, 2015. Spectators can register for the Metric Subaru BeachFest as an add-n to any paddler registering or by tickets the day of the event for a $10 donation, includes BBQ prepared by Northport Fire Department.

Event schedule:

7:30 - 8:30 am - Registration/Check-in

8:45 am - Mandatory paddler meeting

9:20 am - Staggered Start

11 am - BeachFest BBQ, awards, hanging on the beach
