4 Northport HS Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists
The students earned this recognition following their scores on the 2021 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

NORTHPORT, NY — Four Northport High School seniors were named National Merit Semifinalists for the 2022-23 school year, according to the school district.
Nicholas Crafa, Joshua D’Souza, John Dwyer and Zoe Meadows got off to strong starts this year. They earned the recognition following their scores on the 2021 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Selected students can now pursue becoming a National Merit Finalist and complete their scholarship applications with support from guidance counselors. This process is highly competitive and is determined based on his academic performance, extracurricular activities, community service record, leadership, employment experience and more.

“Each year, I am incredibly proud to see our students receive this recognition,” Northport High School Principal Rob Dennis said via news release. “Not only does this speak to the students’
academic accomplishments, but to their hard work and commitment to being active members of our school community.”
While over one million students will take the PSAT and become entrants for the National Merit Scholarship, only approximately 16,000 are selected as semifinalists. Finalists will be announced in February 2023 with scholarship winners announced the following month.
