5th Graders In Elwood's Boyd Intermediate Adopt A Charity
The class chose St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

ELWOOD, NY — Fifth graders in Marsha McLeod’s class at Elwood’s James H. Boyd Intermediate School is giving back this holiday season, according to the school district.
The students chose St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as the charity they adopted in a class vote on the "most deserving" charity, according to the release. The students, having researched the list of potential charities, began fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital via a schoolwide raffle.
Next, the fifth graders plan to write letters to the hospital and will donate a check using the funds they raise from the raffle.
