89-Year-Old Eaton's Neck Firefighter Recognized for Longtime Service

Roy Beach has been a member of the Eaton's Neck Fire Department for 43 years.

A longtime volunteer firefighter was recently honored for 50 years of dedicated service to the Eaton’s Neck Fire Department.

Roy Beach, 89, has been a member of the Eaton’s Neck Fire Department for 43 years. For 30 of those years, he served as fire commissioner.

Beach also served the Levittown Fire Department for 20 years, and has a combined total of 63 years of service to the community.

Besides serving communities as a firefighter, Beach served in World War II and took part in the Normandy invasion on D-Day.

The Chiefs of the Eaton’s Neck Fire Department presented a plaque from the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York to Beach to commemorate his dedication.

Beach is still an active member and works the firehouse radio room during alarms.
