NORTHPORT, NY — Jake and Michael, 10-month-old bonded brothers, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.

"These adorable boys have been waiting so long without a single adoption application, and we have no idea why," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.

The kittens spent "too long" at the rescue's habitats in Petco Commack, so they were placed back into foster care, Wild said.

"There, they are thriving and loving life, hoping to never have to go back again," she said. "They are adorable and handsome, silly, and affectionate."

Michael is the more adventurous and brave of the two, as he explores for something exciting to do, according to Wild. He especially loves to sit at the window, get some sun, and observe everything going on outside.

Jake can be reserved and timid, but he is the most loving, Wild said.

"He will interrupt any love that Michael is receiving and insert himself into the situation to get some cuddles," she said.

Jake loves belly rubs and will make biscuits in the air while being pet.

"They complement each other so beautifully," Wild said. "They both love kids too and so far in foster care have met their dog and seem to do fine with a slow introduction! They are just perfect. If you are looking for a pair of kittens that will bring you joy along with a lifetime of gratitude, these are your boys. We would like to get them adopted from their foster home, so they never have to spend another day in a cage again."

They are neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
