• Northport High School Marks 25th Anniversary Of Sept. 11 (patch.com) — Northport High School students and staff came together in the Commons to mark the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11 with music, reflection, and a moment of silence. A retired school security guard and NYPD officer shared her personal experience, and students planted American flags by the school's Freedom Fountain to honor victims and their families.
   

• High school roundup: Football, boys and girls soccer and field hockey (newsday.com) — Northport High School's boys soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to Huntington, giving up the lone goal with just 4.4 seconds left despite five saves from goalkeeper Teddy Hopkins. The roundup also highlights other Suffolk County football, soccer, and field hockey results that Northport fans may care about as they follow league rivals this season.
