EAST NORTHPORT, NY — Actor Dolph Lundgren, best known for portraying Soviet boxer Ivan Drago in "Rocky IV," is coming to East Northport for a book signing next week.
Lundgren, 68, will appear at Gold's Gym East Northport, located at 1 Larkfield Road, on Monday, Sept. 21, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. as part of a nationwide tour promoting his new memoir, "Fights Worth Fighting."
The Swedish actor and filmmaker will sign copies of the book and interact with fans during the hourlong event, organizers said.
The memoir, scheduled for release Sept. 22, explores Lundgren's experiences in Hollywood, the pressures of fame and the emotional and physical toll of working in the film industry.
Lundgren also reflects on his personal struggles, including his battle with cancer, and examines the meaning of resilience and survival.
Lundgren rose to international prominence playing Ivan Drago opposite Sylvester Stallone in the 1985 film "Rocky IV." His acting career has also included roles in "Masters of the Universe," "Universal Soldier" and "The Expendables" franchise.
A limited number of tickets will be available for the East Northport event, organizers said. Copies of the memoir will also be available for purchase on-site.
The appearance is scheduled for one day before the book's release.
