• Rosie-Gul Found A Home, Then Lost It Again: Northport Kitty Of The Week (patch.com) — Northport animal lovers are being asked to help Rosie-Gul, a 4-year-old cat who lost both her original owner and a recent adoptive home, find a true forever family. Northport Cat Rescue Association describes her as sweet, playful and affectionate, and is seeking a cat-savvy adopter who appreciates her personality, independence and claws while offering her the stability she has repeatedly lost.
   

• Long Island Sound earns high marks for water quality, but some bays and harbors see declines (news12.com) — Water quality in nearby Northport Harbor has slipped from a C to a D in the latest Long Island Sound report card, signaling growing concerns for local waters. While most open Sound waters are earning A and B grades, several Suffolk bays and harbors, including Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor, are also seeing declines tied to runoff, algae blooms, and aging infrastructure.
