Arrest Log: Drug, Hypodermic Needle Possession

Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Friday, March 4

At 7:38 p.m., five teens, ages 16 and 17, from Huntington, Greenlawn and East Northport were issued a field appearance ticket in lieu of arrest for unlawful possession of marijuana on Beach Avenue.

At 8:50 p.m., an 18-year-old East Northport woman was issued a field appearance ticket in lieu of arrest for criminal possession of a forged instrument and a traffic citation for failure to signal on Catherine Street.

Saturday, March 5

At 2:15 a.m., Kenneth Taylor, 34, of Lindenhurst, was arrested on Harrison Drive for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was found to possess a quantity of heroin and suboxone, police said. He was also charged with criminal possession of hypodermic needles, third degree aggravated unlicensed operation and traffic violations.

At 8:14 p.m., John Riordan, 36, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested for criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
