Autumn, Who Birthed A Litter, Is Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week

NORTHPORT, NY — Autumn, a 2-year-old female tortoiseshell cat, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cat of the Week.

Autumn was rescued from a kind woman's backyard the day after the feline gave birth in a window well, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. The woman took Autumn and her kittens into her home and contacted the Northport Cat Rescue Association for help.

"Autumn was an attentive and wonderful mom to her babies," Wild said. "She is such a doll, calm, timid, sweet, and affectionate. She has the most beautiful colors, just like changing leaves on a fall day. Her eyes are green and sparkly, and when she looks at you, it is as if to say, 'Thank you for helping me.' She is looking for a home that will give her time to come out of her shell and show you just how wonderful she is. We would love for her to be home for the holidays, where it will finally be her turn to relax and be taken care of."

Autumn is spayed, has all her shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
