Parents in Northport, East Northport and Elwood can mark the first day of school coming later this summer.
NORTHPORT, NY — Back-to-school planning has already begun in the Northport area, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Northport, East Northport and Elwood.
The first day of school for most students in Northport is Sept. 6.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

Northport-East Northport School District
- First Day: Sept. 6, 2023 for grades 1-12; Sept. 7, 2023 for Kindergarten.
- Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 22 through 24, 2023
- Holiday Break: Dec. 25, 2023, through Jan. 1, 2024
- Winter Break: Feb. 19 through 23, 2024
- Spring Break: March 28 through April 1, 2024; April 22 through 26, 2024
- Last Day: June 26
Elwood School District
- First Day: Sept. 6, 2023
- Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 22 through 24, 2023
- Holiday Break: Dec. 25, 2023 through Jan. 1, 2024
- Winter Break: Feb. 19 through 23, 2024
- Spring Break: March 28 through April 1, 2024
- Last Day: June 26, 2024
