Northport Resident Honored By The National Association of Realtors

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is proud to congratulate associate real estate broker Barbara Hinton, affiliated with the company’s Northport Regional office, who was honored by the National Association of REALTORS® on having held Association membership for 40 years, elevating her REALTOR® status to REALTOR® Emeritus.

A real estate professional since 1975, Hinton experienced a wide variety of markets from coast to coast, servicing buyers and sellers from California to Massachusetts and New York. Her areas of expertise range from antique homes to new construction, specializing in waterfront and water view properties.

With a strong dedication to continuing education, Hinton has achieved the following professional designations: Certified Senior Real Estate Specialist; Certified Relocation Specialist; Certified Residential Specialist; Certified Buyers Broker; Graduate, REALTOR® Institute; and the National Trust Historic Preservation Certification. In addition to her extensive business development and certifications, Hinton is an award-winning associate broker, having earned the company’s International Sterling Society award.

A Northport resident for nearly 45 years, Hinton is an active member in the community, belonging to the Northport Yacht Club, Northport Village Residents Association, and Northport Historical Society.

“The biggest change in the real estate industry over the past 40 years has been the technology,” Hinton said. “When I first started, contracts were handwritten and the mortgage rates were at 8.5 percent. Now, we’ve moved to a paperless market and rates have been cut in half. It’s an entirely evolved era.”
