Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP) Open Enrollment Season Ends Soon

The federal long term care insurance program open enrollment season will be ending June 24th

As most current federal employees, US postal service employees and active members of the uniformed services are aware, the federal government offers long term care insurance to them and their spouses/domestic partners.  While applications can be made at any time, periodicaly the federal government has an open enrollment season when applications can be made with abbreviated underwriting (fewer health questions).  The current open enrollment season ends June 24th.  For employees with health issues, this can sometimes be the only opportunity for them to qualify for long term care insurance.  For healthy couples, sometimes the options are better when they purchase the insurance privately.

For federal employees considering long term care insurance, the FLTCIP website is a good place to start, www.ltcfeds.com.   Once they know what coverage they can apply for, employees should contact a licensed long term care insurance speacialist to see what other options are available to them.  This way the employee knows that they're getting the most appropriate coverage for them at the best price.
