Today's Tip for Home Sellers

Real Estate 2011 - Rising Inventory Creates Many Choices for Buyers, What's a Seller to Do?

Historically low interest rates and warm, July weather has increased activity within the local real estate market.  If you are a seller or are considering a sale in the near future, consider this tip before you bring your home to market!

Curb Appeal- Statistics show that 97% of the buyers who shop for homes start their search on the Internet.  Your property photos and address will be visible to potential buyers.  These potential buyers who view your home will now do what our industry calls the "drive-by".  Studies show that the drive-by is one of the most important factors in determining if a potential buyer will choose to view the property or pass.  Spend some time on the exterior details!

Painting the front door is often inexpensive and can bring a wonderful return on investment! Choose a color that accents your homes exterior and when in doubt, consult with your paint store specialist for a recommendation.

Consider seal-coating the driveway, also another wonderful return on investment.  A fresh coat of this dark substance will enhance the contrast of the home and showcase a manicured look.

Take a look at your flower beds, shrubs and trees!  Weed all beds, trim shrubs and trees and consider some potted plants with vibrant colored, easy care flowers to provide a splash of color.

Neat manicured exteriors help to invite "drive-by" viewers in.  Don't skimp on the details and as always, consult with a local real estate professional for proper pricing within your marketplace.
