Brentwood Man Seriously Injured In East Northport Crash: Police
A Brentwood man was standing near the trunk area of his vehicle when he was struck Friday night, police say.
EAST NORTHPORT, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in East Northport on Friday night, Suffolk County police said.
Fausto Sorto, 35, of Brentwood, was driving a 2014 Honda Accord east on Town Line Road when he pulled onto the shoulder in front of 341 Town Line Road around 7:36 p.m., police said.
Sorto exited the vehicle and walked around to the back of the Accord. He was in the driver’s side trunk area when he was struck by a Volkswagen Atlas driven by a 17-year-old Northport resident, police said.

Sorto was taken to South Shore University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said. The driver was not injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
