Centerport Memorial Day Parade: Photo Gallery

CENTERPORT, NY — The Centerport Fire Department hosted its annual Memorial Day parade and service on Monday, according to public information officer Steve Silverman. The parade was well-attended by the community. A slideshow of photos can be seen above.

This year's guest speaker was U.S. Army Captain Richard Bruno.

Besides firefighters and shiny fire apparatus, the parade featured marching bands from the Harborfields Schools and local Scout troops. After the parade, the ex-chiefs led a flag-raising ceremony at the Centerport Park Memorial Monument opposite the firehouse. Wreaths were placed at the monument, and "Taps" was played in remembrance of those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Refreshments were served by the Centerport Cadets and the Ladies Auxiliary held their bake sale.
