Chuck Norris, ‘Purring Machine’ Kitten, To Attend Northport Adoption Event: Northport Kitty Of The Week

NORTHPORT, NY — Chuck Norris, a 5-month-old kitten with an affectionate personality, is Northport Cat Rescue Association’s Kitten of the Week.

“If you’re looking for something sweet, Northport Cat Rescue Association has just the kitten for you,” the rescue said.

Chuck recently came into the rescue’s care after his owner experienced a change in her living situation and had to surrender him, NCRA said.

His name calls to mind Chuck Norris, the actor and martial artist known for tough-guy roles, but volunteers say this Chuck Norris is all purrs, cuddles and sweetness.

While it was a heartbreaking decision, volunteers said, it is clear Chuck was deeply loved.

“He has one of the most affectionate personalities our volunteers have ever encountered,” the rescue said.

Chuck is described as a “true purring machine” who comes running the moment a volunteer enters the room. He is eager to be picked up, cuddled and loved, according to NCRA.

Since arriving at the rescue, Chuck has also become something of a mascot for newly rescued kittens and cats who are frightened, shy or confused.

“Chuck often sits quietly beside them, as if reassuring them that everything is going to be okay,” the rescue said.

His gentle nature and calm confidence have helped other kittens adjust to rescue life, volunteers said.

“Everyone who meets Chuck falls in love,” NCRA said. “His sweet disposition, affectionate personality, and soulful eyes have a way of melting hearts instantly.”

Chuck will be among the kittens at Northport Cat Rescue Association’s upcoming adoption event from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Sweet Arts Candy Store, located at 105 Main St. in Northport.

The rescue said Chuck will be there to greet visitors and “soak up attention.” He will also be joined by several rescue friends, giving potential adopters a chance to meet other kittens looking for homes.

Chuck Norris is neutered, fully vaccinated, litter box trained, microchipped, and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV.
