Crochet Boot Camp, Family Festival: Northport Weekend Picks

NORTHPORT, NY — With summer now in full swing, it's time to get out of the house and enjoy all that Northport has to offer this weekend.

Whether you're looking to spend the day down by the water or enjoying a live music event in your favorite bar, Patch has got you covered.

From a crochet boot camp on Main Street, to a show at the Napper Tandy's Irish Pub, or a theatrical performance at a local theater, Northport, as usual, has no lack of entertainment to enjoy.

St. Anthony's Family Feast & Festival: Friday, June 28, Starts at 6 p.m. (1025 5th Avenue, East Northport)

The 28th annual St. Anthony's Feast & Festival is going on from Wednesday, June 26 through Sunday, June 30 at the Trinity Regional School. The feast is sponsored by the Fr. Thomas A. Judge Knights of Columbus and the St. Anthony of Padua Church.

On the slate for Friday is an eating contest, an appearance by "Big Mike" Sangiamo from WALK Radio 97.5 and a classic rock performance at night by the band Transfusion.

Crochet Boot Camp w. Joe Cohen: Saturday, June 29, 11 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (135 Main Street, Northport)

All skill levels are invited to come crochet at the Nest Store on Main Street this Saturday morning. Professional crocheter, Joe Cohen, will lead you through the basics of stitching, finishing techniques, and pattern and chart reading.

Materials needed for the class are a crochet hook I or J and one skein of worsted weight smooth yarn in a medium color and a yarn needle, according to its event page. If you don't have these items, Joe will have supplies to purchase for $12.

Refreshments will also be available.

Nate Charlie Music: Saturday, June 29, 9:30 p.m. (229 Laurel Ave, Northport)

The Napper Tandy's Irish Pub is hosting singer/songwriter Nate Charlie, on Saturday night. Patrons should expect a variety of cover songs from the 1960's to the present day, and a skilled performance on the guitar.

Show - Aida: Multiple Weekend Show Times, 250 Main Street, Northport

Take a trip to the John W. Engeman Theater this weekend for one of three last possible showtimes of Aida in the Northport location. Aida, the winner of four Tony Awards, is a story of the love triangle between Aida, a Nubian princess, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, a solider.

Showtimes are:
