East Northport Business Holds Donation Drive for Homeless Vets
Residents can drop off basic living items now until Feb. 27.

A storage company in East Northport will be holding a donation drive this month to benefit homeless veterans.
Residents can drop off basic living items to Westy Self Storage, located at 4049 Jericho Turnpike, now until Feb. 27. Residents are asked to donate underwear, socks, t-shirts, towels, washcloths and blankets, toiletries, footwear, and both warm and cold weather gear.
These items will go to General Needs Ltd, a nonprofit organization that provides basic necessities to homeless U.S. veterans.

“It’s hard for many people to imagine living without the everyday necessities. Our veterans deserve more. Help us to help those who have served our great nation,” Lonnie Sherman, President of General Needs, Ltd, said in a press release. “We are deeply grateful for Westy’s support and commitment to the community and those in need.”
Westy Self Storage will be open for drop off seven days a week at the following hours:

- Monday- Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“It is with great pride that we assist General Needs,” Tim Mincin, District Director of East Northport’s Westy Self Storage, said. “It is important to the Westy family to provide assistance to those in need, especially those who have given so much for our country.”
Westy Self Storage is located across the street from Barnes and Noble.
