The location is hiring about 75 employees.
A Dairy Queen in East Northport is looking to open by the end of the year and hire about 75 employees.
This will be franchise owner Laura Maier’s fourth Dairy Queen on Long Island. Other Long Island Dairy Queen locations are in Massapequa, Levittown and Huntington. The East Northport franchise will open at 4005 Jericho Turnpike.
“We hope to be open by the end of the year,” Maier, of Massapequa, told Patch. “Mid-January at the latest.”

Unlike the other Long Island locations, the East Northport spot will have an outdoor seating area with a brick patio. “It will be a nice feature, especially when the weather gets warm,” Maier said.
Dairy Queen plans to get involved in the community. The franchise looks to participate in local fundraisers, support Little League teams and join the Chamber of Commerce.

Long Island Dairy Queen plans to open additional franchise locations in the future.
A Dairy Queen from a franchise different owner is expected to open in Medford around the same time as the East Northport location, Maier says.
