East Northport Resident Earns Award of Excellence From SUNY Farmingdale
She was lauded for "performing her duties with integrity" and having "a consistent commitment to high standards."
An East Northport resident was among four members of the Farmingdale State College faculty and administrative staff who were recipients of Excellence Awards from the Farmingdale College Foundation.
Dawn Grzan was awarded Excellence in Professional Service.
Grzan serves as Director of Sponsored Programs and Research and has helped Farmingdale’s grant funding grow from $1.8 million to $4.6 million under her leadership.

Grzan was responsible for organizing the college’s Institutional Review Board, which worked to increase faculty scholarship and research and to increase external funding.
When she’s not working at Farmingdale, Grzan is a mentor to the Melville Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals group.

The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that provides financial assistance in advancing the purposes and development of Farmingdale State College.
Other award recipients include: Dr. Lynn Marsh, Excellence in Teaching; Dr. Jeff Poplarski, Excellence in Teaching (part time); and Linda Vitale, Excellence in Professional Service (part time). All are Long Island residents.
