East Northport Scouts Donate Thanksgiving Baskets to Families Fighting Cancer

The boys put together Thanksgiving dinner baskets for families of patients at the Stony Brook Cancer Center.

Members of Den 1 of Pack 400 in East Northport put together five baskets full of Thanksgiving dinner as part of a local food drive to help families of cancer patients.

Each boy scout was responsible for bringing one or two food items to help fill up the five baskets.

The baskets, which each included custom cards, were filled with turkeys, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pie, drinks and more.

The boys donated the baskets on Tuesday, Nov. 22 to the Barton at Home drive, which was collecting for the Stony Brook Cancer Center patients' families.

The boys, who attend Dickinson Avenue School and Lutheran Day School, gave back to those in need to fulfill an Adventure Loop called Fellowship and Duty to God. This requires the boys to provide a service to help a worship or spiritual community, school, community organization, or chartered organization.
