Elwood All-State Student-Musicians Recognized By NYSSMA

Two students from Elwood were selected to perform at the 2021 All-State Music Conference, and two more were selected as alternates.

Anson Kwan (bass) and Toni Meyer (alto) were selected as participants and Aaram Lee (violin) and Kaitlyn Schieble (soprano) as alternates for the New York State School Music Association’s 2021 All-State Music Conference.

ELWOOD, NY — Two student-musicians from Elwood-John H. Glenn High School were selected by the New York State School Music Association to perform at the 2021 All-State Music Conference, according to the Elwood School District. Two more students were selected as alternates.

Thousands of students across the state auditioned for this honor at solo and ensemble festivals last spring. The event is set to be held in Rochester from Dec. 2 through 5.

Anson Kwan (bass) and Toni Meyer (alto) will perform with the All-State Mixed Chorus. Aaram Lee (violin) and Kaitlyn Schieble (soprano) were named as alternates.

"This is a culmination of all our effort and so many years put into music, so it’s nice to finally get recognized for it," Kwan said via news release.

Lee added, "hard work does pay off."
