Elwood Announces All-County, All-State Musicians

The Elwood Union Free School District is pleased to announce that eight students from Elwood-John H. Glenn High School have been selected to represent the district in the NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) All-State and NYSCAME (New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education) All-County music festivals. Students were chosen for this prestigious honor based on the proficiency they demonstrated at NYSSMA auditions last spring.

NYSCAME All-County has three rehearsals in November, which will culminate in a concert at Northport High School on Nov. 18. The NYSSMA All-State students will travel to Rochester for three days of rehearsal, which conclude with a concert at Eastman Theater, Dec. 1-4.

“I am incredibly proud of these students,” said chorus teacher Rachel Nagle. “They have worked so hard to achieve this goal, and they are going to enjoy an incredible experience.”
