Elwood Cellist Recognized Among Top Teenage Musicians in America

A cellist at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School joined the ranks of many notable artists across the country when he was recognized as one of the most talented teenage musicians in America.
Solomon Choi was selected out of more than 11,000 applicants nationwide to be one of the 787 talented students who were chosen as a 2015 National YoungArts Foundation winner.

The National YoungArts Foundation recognizes and supports America’s most talented 15-18 year olds in the arts.
Choi had to complete an online application and submit an audition recording to enter the competition.

He received an engraved award with a list of students who were selected in this year’s awards process and he will also have the opportunity to participate in YoungArts New York, a weeklong music program that allows him to play alongside various professional music teachers in New York City.
