Elwood Service Members Share Military Experiences With Students

Elwood graduates who served in the military took the time to share their personal experiences with Elwood Middle Schoolers during a Veterans Day assembly on Tuesday.

The veterans and service members, some who recently graduated from John H. Glenn High School, told the students military stories and explained what serving their country meant to them.

Legislator Steve Stern served as keynote speaker and spoke about the sacrifices service members have made to protect our country’s liberties.

“Throughout history, our veterans have demonstrated great bravery, sacrifice and devotion to duty to protect our freedom and our way of life,” Stern said. “It is a great privilege for all of us to hear their experiences and know that the service they gave to our great nation will be honored and remembered for generations to come.”
