Elwood Students Are Mathematically Motivated
Ten students recently participated in the 2016 Suffolk County MoMathlon at Brookhaven National Labs.
Ten seventh- and eighth-grade students at Elwood Middle School participated in the 2016 Suffolk County MoMathlon at Brookhaven National Labs earlier this month.
Congratulations to the following students for their participation in the program: Mina Ban, Jake Haddad, Hannah Kleinman, Andrew Mullan, Daniel Mullan, Stephanie Mullan, Rithika Narayan, Zain Siddiqui, Jeremy Tast and Peter Vouthas.
The MoMathalon, which is presented by the National Museum of Mathematics, provides students with the opportunity to compete against other schools in an engaging and challenging series of mathematical questions. They compete individually and in groups with peers from different schools, as well as their own, to answer questions and identify alternate solutions to math equations.
