Elwood Students Deliver A 'String-Sational' Performance
Nine student-musicians participated in the Long Island String Music Festival.

To celebrate their love for music, nine student-musicians from the Elwood Union Free School District recently participated in the Long Island String Music Festival.
To participate in LISFA, talented string students from across Suffolk County are selected to play in an all-county orchestra based on teacher recommendations and their New York State School Music Association scores from the previous spring. Selection to LISFA is highly competitive and considered an honor for students to be chosen.
With the assistance of orchestra teachers Karen Gellert, Stephanie Kenyon and Diana Gotzen-Berg, the Elwood students prepared music and participated in a weekend of rehearsals with a culminating concert performance.
