NORTHPORT, NY — Emma and Serena, two female cats who lost the only home they ever knew, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cats of the Week.

Serena and Emma came from a home on Fire Island.

"Their owner had some difficulties and had to leave her home and many different rescues had to come in and help re-home almost 30 pets," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the cat rescue. "Serena and Emma came to us and, although confused, are the sweetest girls."

"These girls would be happy to get adopted together as they have lived together before, and really seem to get along," Wild said. "To the right home they can be adopted out alone as well."

They are currently in Doggie Dons in Northport.

"At first they were scared and upset but now our wonderful volunteers have made them feel loved and they know it’s just a matter of time before they are going to find their happily ever after," Wild said. "They both get along with other cats as they lived with many before. They both love to be pet and brushed and make the best biscuits! They get very sad when our volunteers' shifts are over. We hope to find them their forever homes soon!"

They are spayed, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
