Newbery Book Club: 'Incorrigible' Author to Visit Library

Children in grades four and up can be the first to read children's books
published this year.

The Newbery Club was formed by Mrs. Gebel, Head of the Library's Youth Services Department and a member of the 2006 Newbery Committee.

Club members meet monthly to discuss books eligible for the Newbery Medal. Read the official guidelines for winning a Newbery Medal here.

They post reviews to the Newbery Club website and hold a Mock Newbery election at the end of the year to see if they can predict the book that will win the official Newbery Medal. Children may join at any time during the year.

This Friday, they can begin a new chapter of the Newbery Book Club with author Maryrose Wood, author of the Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place series who will be at the Northport library.

Copies of The Mysterious Howling and The Hidden Gallery will be available for purchase.

Registration begins April 8 at either library or online using code NENJ534.
