Register Today for "Jazz: Our Music, Our Culture" with Shenole Latimer on Friday, 2/25 at the Library

       Take a multimedia journey through the history of jazz music from the 1900s to today with award-winning jazz saxophonist and recording artist Shenole Latimer. While performing some classic jazz pieces, Mr. Latimer will talk about the struggles and contributions of musicians like Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane. He will explore the African-American roots of jazz and how jazz reflects the cultural phases of the African-American experience.
