Sixth Annual Jeffrey Conner Annual Golf Outing

The 6^th Annual Jeffrey Conner Memorial Scholarship Fund Golf Outing is set for Wednesday, July 13 at Crab Meadow Golf Club. Since its founding, the fund has awarded nearly $65,000 in scholarships to Northport baseball and softball players.

The event will include 18 holes of golf on the championship course. A shotgun start will be employed at 1:30 p.m. Complimentary beverages will be available around the course for players. A barbeque-style lunch will be available at 12:30 p.m. Dinner will be served in the clubhouse’s View Restaurant immediately following play at 6 p.m. In addition to the promised “mouth watering” buffet, there will be live music to entertain the crowd.

Mr. Conner wore uniform No. 31 while playing catcher on the Northport High School varsity baseball team. He was killed in a tragic car accident during his senior year. A scholarship fund was established to perpetuate his memory and foster the ideals, goals and aspirations that characterized his life. The fund awards annual grants to young people who plan to pursue a college education and seek educational excellence.
