Expect Lane Closures, Delays on Route 25A Starting Monday
Construction from Fort Salonga to Calverton is expected to be completed in about 12 weeks, weather permitting.
Motorists can expect lane closures and delays while members of New York State Department of Transportation begin work along about 40 miles of Route 25A starting Monday.
The crews will inspect and clean roadway storm drains at over 1,400 locations, between Route 25 in Calverton and Bread and Cheese Hollow Road in Fort Salonga, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. These off-peak daytime hours should lead to minimal delays, NYS DOT says.
The project is expected to be completed in about 12 weeks, weather permitting.

Construction will cause a short duration of single-lane travel and or lane shifts. A single travel lane in each direction will be maintained wherever possible. In areas where the roadway is narrow, the DOT will safely accommodate traffic around the drainage operation; a single travel lane will remain open with one-way, alternating eastbound and westbound traffic flow in effect.
Route 25A is one of nine locations on Long Island that's part of a $3.8 million projects to preserve and improve road drainage systems.
