'Fiddler on The Roof' Opens This Weekend in Northport

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Broadway production of 1964.

“Fiddler On The Roof” opens this weekend at the Northport-E. Northport Community Theater.

Produced by Bette Silver, the theater’s founder, and under the stage direction of Long Island theater veteran Jim Redding, the show is set to kick off to the holiday season.

Local pediatrician Lawrence Pavlevsky stars as Tevye, the long-suffering patriarch and father of five daughters. This is Pavlevsky’s debut performance with the Northport Community Theater. Yet he is not a newcomer to Tevye’s spirit, having played the role when he was an 18-year old high school student.
