Huntington Hospital Golf Outing Supports New Emergency Department

Through the generous donations of more than 280 golfers and community members, Huntington Hospital, a part of Northwell Health, raised nearly $450,000 for its new emergency department at its Centennial Golf Classic on June 1.

Golfers played at Piping Rock and The Creek golf courses, both located in Locust Valley, and enjoyed a surf and turf dinner beachside at The Creek afterwards. Dinner guests also participated in a live auction of several donated items, including New York Giants tickets, with Super Bowl XXV Most Valuable Player Ottis Anderson conducting the auction for that item.

“It was great to see how many people came out to support Huntington Hospital,” said Gerard X. Brogan, Jr., MD, executive director of the hospital. “I want to extend my sincerest thanks to all those who made this event possible -- especially our honoree, Paul Posillico -- and all those who participated.”

Proceeds from the Centennial Golf Classic will benefit Huntington Hospital’s new emergency department, which has an anticipated opening date of January 2, 2017, and will more than double the size of its existing area.
