Huntington Hospital Names Emergency Department Chairman

Leonardo Huertas, MD, has been named chairman of emergency medicine at Huntington Hospital.

Dr. Huertas was previously the chairman of emergency medicine at Glen Cove Hospital. He is certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and completed his medical education at SUNY Upstate Medical University and his residency at Christiana Care Health System.

Huntington Hospital is slated to open its new, expanded emergency department on January 2, 2017. It will be more than double the size of the previous facility.
