Interim Superintendent Named At Elwood

Kenneth Bossert is headed to be the superintendent of Great Neck. Kelly Fallon was appointed interim superintendent.

ELWOOD, NY — The Elwood School District appointed Kelly Fallon as interim superintendent effective Aug. 1, the district announced.

Fallon replaces Kenneth Bossert, who is heading to serve as superintendent of the Great Neck School District.

"Fallon joins Elwood with a wealth of experience," the district wrote.

She served as the superintendent in the Half Hollow Hills Central School District from 2011 through 2017. After retiring, she worked in several other capacities, including as the interim assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction and administration in both the Harborfields
Central School District and the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District.

Most recently, Fallon served as the interim superintendent and principal of the East Quogue
School District. She has also held positions of principal, assistant principal and elementary
school teacher throughout her educational career.

An Islip resident, Fallon earned her bachelor's degree in education from Dowling College, her master's degree in reading from Dowling College and her administrative certificate from Long Island University.

"I look forward to being part of the Elwood school community and supporting the tradition of educational excellence that exemplifies the district," Fallon said in a news release.
