NORTHPORT, NY — An investing club was launched at Northport Middle School, the Northport-East Northport School District announced on Facebook.

The club is being piloted at the middle school with plans for one at East Northport Middle School.

The club is open to any middle school students looking to get a head start on financial planning. Students are learning about the stock market and how to invest.

Members compete in online investing challenges and learn about non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and cryptocurrency, according to the district.

There are plans to link the middle school club with the existing investment club at the high school so younger students can be paired with one of their older peers for help.
