Stephen Labate: The Deer Park resident, 46, is a financial planner and a military veteran. He currently holds the rank of lieutenant colonel. Labate has been called to active service three times since the attacks of Sept. 11, including a lengthy deployment to Iraq. The Republican has made economic matters a major part of his platform, supporting tax cuts and regulation reduction to boost job growth in the private sector. He would rein in federal spending and work to repeal the Affordable Health Care Act, improve border security, strengthen programs for veterans. Though he’s never held public office, Labate did run for the 3rd District seat against Israel in 2012. Learn more about Labate, his platform and endorsement by visiting his website.
