An expert in the field, especially colonial gravestones, Welch will share information on how the materials, symbols and design of these unique artifacts provide insight into the lives of the people and families they honor.
The event will take place Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. at the Northport Historical Society, 215 Main St., Northport. Refreshments will be served. The event is free to Northport Historical Society members, but $5 for non-members.
