'Loving' Serenity Is Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week
Serenity, a 6-month-old female, is looking for a calm, quiet home where she can feel safe. Would you like to give that to her?

NORTHPORT, NY — Serenity, a 6-month-old female, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kitten of the Week.
When Serenity’s sister was rescued from outside as a baby, her rescuer was told there was another kitten, said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.
"She went back a few times, and after three weeks, sweet and scared Serenity was found alone and frightened," Wild said. "She was brought into rescue, and she was very nervous but so lovely. It took time to get her to trust. We are not sure what she went through while she was out there alone, but she was definitely cautious of fast movements. How scary for just a baby to have been out there alone."

Serenity was kept in foster care and is currently in the rescue's habitats at Petco Huntington. All of the rescue's volunteers have worked tirelessly with her and have fallen in love with her, according to Wild.
"She is timid, but with patience she is so affectionate and loving," Wild said. "She loves to be pet. She is an absolute purring machine. She gets along with other cats too, often observing them from the top of the cat tower while they play."

Serenity would love a home that is quiet and calm, Wild said.
"She just needs to feel safe and then her loving personality comes out. If there are other kittens or cats in the home, it would be nice if they were gentle. We know she will thrive in a patient home where she never has to know the fear of being alone outside again."
Serenity is spayed, has all her shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
