Man Charged in Armed Robbery Spree

The 29-year-old robbed one 7-Eleven three times in three weeks, police say. Police make arrest after Commack gas station robbery Saturday.

A 29-year-old Elwood man was arrested Saturday night and charged in an armed robbery spree in the area over the past month, police said.

According to police, Shaun McNeice, of 5 Stan Haven Place, robbed a Shell gas station, located at 444 Commack Road, in Commack on Saturday around 7:35 p.m. and then fled the scene on a bicycle.

A short time later, detectives located McNeice on Stan Haven Place and West Haven Drive in Elwood, where he was found to be in possession of the proceeds from the robbery along with a skull mask and a loaded handgun.

McNeice is also accused of committing the following robberies:

  • Finnians Pub, located at 1976 Jericho Turnpike, Elwood, on Oct. 5 at approximately 10:45 p.m.
  • Speedway, located at 5087 Jericho Turnpike, Commack, on Oct. 4 at approximately 4:45 a.m.
  • 7-Eleven, located at 6230 Jericho Turnpike, Commack, on Oct. 2 at approximately 12:40 a.m.
  • 7-Eleven, located at 3041 Jericho Turnpike, Elwood, on Sept. 30 at approximately 12:15 a.m.
  • 7-Eleven, located at 3041 Jericho Turnpike, Elwood, on Sept. 24 at approximately 12 a.m.
  • 7-Eleven, located at 3041 Jericho Turnpike, Elwood, on Sept. 12 at approximately 11 p.m.

McNeice is charged with seven counts of first degree robbery, second degree criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. He was held overnight at the Second Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
